Instant Auctions was formed to give the normal, everyday person a chance to sell their items
on eBay. Because most people don't have time to waste learning how to list on eBay and don't
want to deal with answering a thousand questions about their item, we charge a small fee and
take care of everything for them. Our website gives EVERYONE a chance to market their item to
the entire world on a site that has over 104 million registered users! Through our relationship
with The UPS Store™, Instant Auctions makes it very easy and convenient for anyone in the U.S.
to sell on eBay. We were founded in 2004 in Lexington, KY, and will do our best to become the
most convenient, customer friendly, and cost-effective trading assistant on the internet!
Our services make it extremely convenient to the customer. No longer do you have to keep up with
your auctions, the emails from potential buyers, and which package ships to which address because
Instant Auctions does everything for you! Our staff is very familiar with eBay's rules and
auctions settings so as to maximize the final value of your item. We also take high-quality
digital photographs of your item to put in the listing, which is very helpful to buyers so they
can see the product they are bidding on and to you as a customer because a lot of people still
don't have a digital camera. Sell with us and never worry about your auctions again!
3. What type of items can I sell with Instant Auctions?
We will accept many different items ranging from sporting goods to electronics to jewelry.
The only stipulations we have are that the item must be worth at least $25 on eBay (please
check eBay to see what your item is selling for). Your item must also be within
eBay's legal limits,
be shippable via UPS, and weigh less than 70 lbs. Many items fit these loose requirements,
but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
4. What happens when I take my item to The UPS Store?
Our customers can simply take their items to any of the 3,900 The UPS Store locations and drop
it off to be shipped to Instant Auctions' main processing center. The customer is responsible
for all packaging costs, but you do not have to pay shipping when you drop off your item.
Please take your Packing Slip with you when dropping off your item at The UPS Store and be sure
to say you are shipping to "Instant Auctions Corporate Account". After that, a The UPS Store
employee will take care of everything else!
Yes there is. The maximum an item can weight and still qualify is 70 lbs. If your item weighs more
than this, The UPS Store will not allow it to be dropped off and shipped to us to sell for you on
eBay. Please contact us for questions about vehicles and other
Your items will be professionally packaged (if you choose) at The UPS Store according the shipping
carrier's standards to ensure proper shipment to us. Once they arrive here, your items will be
stored in a secure location. Our customers are our greatest concern, so safety for your item is
always a main priority.
Although we hope every transaction goes smoothly, sometimes shipping carriers do break items in transit.
In these rare cases, a claims ticket will be filed with the proper carrier and the party at fault will
be held responsible.
We strongly recommend using The UPS Store to ship your items to us because you will not have
to pay any up-front shipping charges. However, we allow you to use ANY carrier you desire to
get your package to us. To find the nearest shipping location for UPS, Fedex, USPS, or DHL,
please click here. We will ship your item to the winning
bidder based on several factors using the carrier of our choice.
11. Where does my item go once I ship it to Instant Auctions?
Once your item arrives here, a proper auction listing will
be written up containing all pertinent information on your item. Digital photographis will
be taken of your item and an auction will be launched. While the listing is up, your item
will be stored in a secure location. Once payment has been received from the winning bidder, your
item will be shipped with a major carrier (UPS, Fedex, USPS, or DHL).
Yes you can. After filling out your form online, you can log into your account at any time to see
what stage your item is currently in. When your eBay auction is listed, you will be emailed a link
to it so you can watch it if you'd like. You can also track your package after dropping it off at
The UPS Store by using your UPS tracking number at UPS.com.
14. How long until I get my check after I ship my item?
After you ship your item, it will take between 2-7 days to reach us. Once we received it, your item
will be listed within 2-4 days. Each auction will also last 7 days. Your check will be mailed 15-30
days after the auction has ended. The entire waiting time should be no more than 6 weeks long, but
extenuating circumstances may arise where it could take longer.
15. Why does my item have to be worth more than $25?
Because our minimum service fee is $7.99, it is in your best interest to list items worth more than $25.
If we accepted items worth less than this, it would mean receiving very little in return for your items.
16. Why does my auction listing have to start at $9.99?
Our experienced eBay staff has determined that items starting at $9.99 usually end up with a higher
final sale price because more bidders will pay attention to the auction listing. Although your item
may sell for less than you think it is worth, Instant Auctions is legally bound to accept the highest
bid, and so we list the items in a way we strive to get the most amount of money for you, our customer.
If your item does not reach $25, Instant Auctions charges a minimum of $7.99 fee for each auction.
It is in our best interest and yours to have your listings end with a high sale price, so we will
do everything we can to see that this happens. As stated above, Instant Auctions is legally bound
to sell an item for the final price even if you think your item is worth more.
19. Why does Instant Auctions not sell all types of items?
In our research, certain items sell better on eBay than others. For this reason,
we have compiled a list of what items we feel will be very successful on eBay.
However, based on eBay policy and our own, Instant Auctions will not list hazardous
items, sexually explicit material, illegal or counterfeit products, and any other item listed in
eBay's prohibited items list.
Also, we have chosen items that will hopefully give the best returns for you as a customer
and can be easily shipped. If you have a question about an item not found on our list,
please contact us to find out if we will accept it.
